S
torm had a fantastic write up in horse
and hound today, described by Tricia Johnson as he belied his age to give
a final display that was not only foot perfect but full of expression, a
horse that oozes presence and enthusiasm.

S
torm is now at Stanley Grange Stud for
the summer where he will be standing for Natural and AI.

Santa asked me if one little boy in Leeds deserved a Storm baby. I
spoke with his mum and she said how much time he spent with the little
foal and how much he had progressed his riding hoping one day to be able
to event a horse by storm. I would like to say to Christopher
Bradley I really look forward to seeing you and Summer Storm in years to
come and hope you enjoy every moment with her. Merry Christmas to
you all xx
September 2009
With the last of the mares ready for home this has to be one of our most
exciting years so far. The beginning of Sept saw Storm and his
offspring at the Chaps Championships where we had such a fantastic time
not only repeating results of 2006 but taking the Veteran championship,
Reserve Supreme Champion Ridden and In Hand. His offspring
enjoying as much success.
Storm loved every minute of glory rising to the occasion with the most
fantastic lap of honours looking amazing at 16yrs young :o)
July/August 2009
We have some fantastic foals on the ground this year and youngstock that
are making owners proud in the show circuit. Storm took a few days
off to go to RIHS where his manners, presence and movement stood him 7th
in the M/W non-native class.
We are now concentrating on the dressage and with frequent competitions
hopefully it will not take too long to get some qualifiers under his
belt.
June 2009
We have not done much in the way of competitions due to the amount of
mares, However my 14yr old niece Leigh-Ann Smith has started dressage
lessons with Peter Farrelly on him and they are progressing really well.
In Peter's eyes I can now put my feet up and retire. if only !!
April 2009
Storm is competing well and has all of his qualifiers completed for
CHAPS & BSPA championships. He qualified last year for RIHS 2009 -
just HOYS now! was 6th out of 25 at BSPS winter champs.
March 2009
The breeding season is
in full swing. Good luck if you have foals due. The first
was born on 09/03/09 a skewbald filly out of a T/B mare by MTOTO.
Congratulations!
Storm has just completed several days training with
John Lassetter. He went exceptionally well. Johns comments
were very encouraging for his future work in Dressage. His first
dressage tests were very encouraging with scores of 76% in the Novice
and 72% in the Elementary.
February 2009
Storm is loving playing in the snow and is really
enjoying dressage. The first foals are due this month and we are so
excited .....
January 2009
Happy New Year to you all !
Storm is clipped out and already embarking on his dressage career.
We were 2nd in both Novice and Elementary tests with over 70%.
There are numerous people weaning foals which I know
can be very stressful for both owner and well as the horses. If
you need any advise please do call.
August 2008
What a month! - Following a very busy stud season the
final of the mares went home. Storm went to the BSPA champs.
He was presented with his Elite status award. We also managed to defend our title to win the Pairs
ridden along side his daughter for the 2nd year.
June
2008 - Storm qualified for the RIHS 2009 and was
reserve champion.
May
2008
Storm is back from Holden Fold Dressage & Stud after having semen
collected and frozen. I would like to thank Brian, Angela and all
the staff for caring for him as one of their own and making AI more
understanding for all. We had a fantastic write up in Horse Deals
May edition along with some wonderful pictures, thank you Michelle and
all involved
March 2008
We had a fantastic but cold weekend over the Easter
Weekend. Storm qualified for the RIHS then went to take the
championship. He also won his class in hand and was reserve
champion. we travelled in the horrendous snow on Sunday further north
to just miss out taking 2nd in the HOYS qualifier at BSPS.
October 2007
We can now add our experience of HOYS to the list.
I am really pleased with the way Storm performed with Julie in the class
and he looked a picture. Electric Storm completed another visit to
HOYS with a 3rd meaning she has been placed in the top three each year
since her championship in 2005. I must also congratulate Daniel
Kinson with Storm Dancer for passing the grading with BSPA. We
will look forward seeing him on the circuit in 2008
September 2007
Following a fantastic but hard season at stud the
final mares have just gone home, it is all systems go in getting Storm
ready for HOYS and putting in the final touches to his appearance.
August 2007
What a month! - We finally did it - Stormhill Mink has qualified for HOYS
by winning the non-native coloured and taking the ridden championship at
the Scottish horse show. Also, following on from our fun and
coming 3rd in the ridden pairs in 2006 we were then nicknamed the
father/daughter combination, Steph and I were blown away winning the
class this year at the BSPA champs. I was really shocked when I saw the
pictures of us together.
June 2007
The season is well underway and Sunnybank is having
good reports all round. Palamo Picasso has qualified for the RIHS
along with Mink and Electric Storm. Reuben has been backed and was
out to his first show last weekend gaining 2nd in both the hunter and
coloured class. Daniel has been having loads of success with The
Storm Dancer in dressage and jumping.
Vanessa Hill has the full sister to Electric Storm named Dawn Light
(Tosca). She has been backed, has fantastic paces with an
exceptional jump.
Definitely some to watch out for this summer!!!
September 2006 Championship Update
After a very busy stud season we attended two shows early August in
the hope of qualifying for the championships, which we did. We
had the most amazing time taking the Stallion classes at both BSPA and
CHAPS.
Storm went on to win the in hand section
championship, the Supreme Non-Native Horse In Hand and was crowned 1st
Reserve Best in Show. Storm was also the Non-Native Champion at
CHAPS.
